Love
By Hugh Leonard. Set in Co. Limerick, free-spirited Katie, 37, arrives
to
paint Clough-a-Regan, the legendary standing stone. As she sits, the
fabric
of time shifts and she is joined by younger incarnations of Triona,
her
mother (aged 30 in 1964), and Catherine, her grandmother (aged 20
in 1932).
As the day unfolds, the three women begin to talk about their lives
and
loves, try to make sense of the past and discuss their hopes for the
future.
8pm. Bookings: 051 874402. Theatre Royal, The Mall.

Translations
Regarded by many as Brian Friel' s theatrical masterpiece, Translations
tells
a story of love, war, misunderstanding, loyalty and betrayal. Set
in a hedge
school in Donegal in 1833 at a time when the British Army engineers
are
carrying out the first ordinance survey of Ireland, the play allows
us to
enjoy the humour and drama of everyday relationships as we move through
a
succession of dramatic and often hilarious events. With language acting
as
the invisible border between two nations, what happens when an Irish
peasant
falls in love with an English soldier; when an Irishman helps the
English
soldiers in their colonisation of his country? 8pm. Bookings: 051
874402.
Theatre Royal, The Mall.
