Lord Of The Flies
OLord of the Flies' by William Golding is undoubtedly one of the greatest
novels of the 20th Century. It tells the story of a group of schoolboys
stranded on an Island and their struggles for survival. They are animated
by an important debate about power, democracy and the good and evil
that is within men's hearts, but they are also, all too vividly, real
boys of the kind you might find in any school today. The novel was
adapted for the stage
by the playwright Nigel Williams. A Red Kettle Theatre Company production.8pm,
tickets: €15. Booking tel: 051 871133. The Forum, The Glen,
Waterford.

The Love-Hungry Farmer
By John B Keane. Adapted by Des Keogh. The story of John Bosco McLane,
a bachelor who at 56 is, according to his own assessment, Opast his
best' and evidently still a virgin. McLane's amorous adventures range
from the hilarious to the heart-breaking. He has tales of being led
on and
humiliated, outraged and offended, duped and shamed. Even the strenuous
efforts of matchmaker, Dicky Micky Dicky O'Connor fail him! 8pm, tickets:
€20/18 (conc.), Friends of Garter Lane €16/14 (conc.). Booking
