Double Exposure: A Negative View of Ireland and Wales
Šis an innovative photographic exhibition linking together the
South East of Ireland with the West of Wales. The project involves
the artist, Paul Brewer, travelling B Class roads en route to Waterford
from Wales, shooting and developing the artwork as he travels using
a mobile panoramic camera obscura, which is housed in a road trailer.
Brewer was born in Cardiff to an Irish mother and grandparents, with
the resultant duality never having been resolved and the artist hopes
that by completing this project he will be able to untangle himself
from the physical effect of being born in one country yet having the
perpetual mental state of living in another. Garter Lane Arts Centre,
O¹Connell Street, Waterford.
