People
People, a collection of photographic portraits from Guatemala, Italy,
Japan, Lebanon, Portugal, South Africa, Spain and Ireland, is a new
exhibition of highly original portraits by photographer Paul Kelly.
The images make manifest the spirit and individuality of his subjects
within their specific material environments. At the same time, while
shot in diverse locations throughout the world, they also attest to
a
commonality of human expression, which cultural difference would
often make us forget. Open: Tues to Sat, 10am to 5.30pm, and
admission is free. Garter Lane Arts Centre, O’Connell Street.

Vive La
From the company that brought you Catalpa, Jimmy Joyced! and The
Cambria, the world premiere of a true spy thriller, Vive La, set in
revolutionary Ireland of 1798. A Frenchman walks into the village

The Naul in North County Dublin. He is, he says, a prisoner-of-war
escaped from an English jail. Soon he is training the local United
Irishmen. He’s dubbed Vive La for exclaiming “vive la
liberte” at
every chance. But nothing is quite as it seems that winter of 1798…
