Pressure
‘Pressure’ is the work of four contemporary printmakers
Donna Mc Namara, Des Mac Mahon, Suzhannah O’Reilly and Noelle
Noonan. The very divergence of the work shows both the range and
techniques within the medium itself. There is no common thread or
theme in this show. What the artists have in common is that they
extend and develop their ideas choosing relevant processes to enhance
their image making. Garter Lane Arts Centre, O’Connell Street,
Waterford.

THEATRE & OPERA
February 17 to March 6
The Castlecomer Jukebox
A new play that reunites Red Kettle with Jimmy Murphy and Jim Nolan
– the writer and director of Kings of the Kilburn Highroad.
The Castlecomer Jukebox are a band, one of Irelands greatest with
links back to the showband era, now on their last legs – reduced
to a summer stint at a midlands hotel. This however is going to
be no ordinary summer – the President of the United States
of America is coming to stay and the Castlecomer Jukebox are top
of the bill. The band can re-live some of their former glory and
find a new lease of life with the cameras of the world looking on.
There is of course a price to pay – a price that questions
their loyalty and their very reasons for being a band – for
playing on. Includes Mick Lally as Ginty and Honor Heffernan as
Rio, the band’s singer. 8pm, tickets: €18 (€15 conc),
Previews: €15 (€13 conc), Special Offer: Two for one on
Mondays Friends of Garter Lane & Red Kettle: €13.50. Garter
Lane Arts Centre, O’Connell Street, Waterford.
