Away With the Fairies
This exhibition is a unique colourful event for children to interact with, featuring works by Oisin Byrne, Philip Cullen, Kathleen Delaney, Michael Fortune and Kathleen Hurley. All the artists have created work especially with children in mind, to visually stimulate as well as bring an element of fun to their art experience. SPraoi
…transforms the streets and quays of Waterford into a giant stage for acts from all over the world. And it’s all free! The Spraoi Parade is held on Sunday evening and is the highlight of the festival. It’s followed by a dazzling fireworks display over the River Suir, a fitting climax to a great outdoor spectacle. www.spraoi.com


August 23 to 26
The Guinness Dunmore East 13th International Bluegrass Festival
Once a year music pilgrims come from all over the world to listen to authentic bluegrass music. Bands play to ecstatic crowds, spread out comfortably at 6 venues, both indoors and outdoors. There also fine dining, sunbathing, swimming, dancing and jamming all day and night - a Bluegrass picker’s paradise. A full programme will be available at the pubs and hotels prior to the start of the festival. There is no entry fee and each of the groups play at all of the venues throughout the weekend - and from as early as 12 noon on the Saturday and Sunday.
