Porcelain and Prints
A 40-year friendship between two well-known UK artists has given rise
to an exciting creative collaboration in a first joint exhibition
to be held in Ireland this month. Gillian Still, a Welsh sculptor,
now living and working in Waterford, and John May, an English painter
and print maker, have admired and followed each other¹s work
since they were students together in the 1960s. The show reflects
four decades of shared interests realised in very different ways.
Gillian works on small-scale bronze and porcelain figurative groups
inspired by Œsnapshots of life¹ where John uses bright colour
to portray his photographic source material in a Œpop art¹
style. Info (051) 384330. Waterford Museum, Merchants Quay, Waterford.
to August 27
ŒTracings¹ by Ann Dunphy. ŒThe Elements¹ by John
Eagle. ŒIn Seomra de Paor: More San Scapes¹ by Anna Moore.
Open 10am - 5pm, Tues to Sat. Adm. Free. Old Market House Arts Centre,
Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.

Landshapes
Steven Aylin does not try to represent specific views, instead choosing
to highlight observed shape and colour in an attempt to capture an
atmosphere within the images. When he looks at the land his eyes are
attracted to small pockets, paths, shadows, lines, patches and shapes
so that his final works are created from a build up of these fragments,
pieced together to create new representations of the land. Garter
Lane Arts Centre, O¹Connell Street, Waterford.

Little Red Kettle with a cast of 51 young local actors and a team
of artists, musicians and volunteers. This thrilling, funny and sometimes
scary play will tell a classic tale of good and evil. With characters
of the imagination, from fairytales, alongside some very real schoolchildren,
it will explode onto the stage of the Forum Theatre. It is a play
for all the family and is suitable for those aged 6 to 100 years!
