Written and performed by Macdara Vallely, Peacefire takes place against the background of the Northern Ireland peace process. The Cambria
Written & performed by Donal O¹Kelly. In April 1845, the paddle-steamer Cambria left Boston for Cork with Frederick Douglass, an escaped slave, writer & future American statesman, on board. He had just published his life story, and it had become a best seller, forcing him to flee with a price on his head. He sought asylum in Ireland. After a most eventful crossing, Douglass spoke on Monster Meeting platforms with Daniel O¹Connell, and was given a civic reception in the Mansion House Dublin. 2pm & 8pm, tickets: f12.50 (f10), matinee (f8). Wilde at Heart
