The Last of the Last of the Mohicans


Quarry Players, Limerick present The Last of the Last of the Mohicans by Hugh Leonard - directed by Jean Fay & Last Tango in Little Limerick by David Tristram - directed by Zeb Moore.

The Last of the Mohicans is a comical story about a church furniture manufacturer who attempts to indulge in a little adultery, with less than successful results! Last Tango in Little Limerick is a hilarious farce about how a struggling local drama group decides to use sex to sell tickets to its latest play, with entirely expected results! The acting talent includes Noel Dillon, Donal Ryan, Susie O'Brien, Eileen Conway, Jonathan Caffrey, Liam Moore, Bridín Ryan, Nadia Sakni and David Sheehan.

Belle Isle Theatre Company presents Run for Your Wife by Ray Cooney. John Smith is a London cabbie, who is happily married to Mary and, at the same time, happily married to Barbara. Determined to keep his lie intact, John lives in two separate homes. Unfortunately, his meticulous plan is disrupted when he intervenes in a mugging and gets hit on the head. After being treated in a hospital, he is dropped off at Mary’s place at a time when he should have been home with Barbara. John desperately struggles to hold his scheme together while avoiding arrest by the police and suspicion from his wives.

Featuring Orla Ahern, Peter Hayes, Patrick Kelly, Aine Little, James Mulcahy, Ger Murphy, Michael Riordan and Dan Sheehy. Directed by Robert Lee.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s


Rail Theatre Company present One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest adapted by Dale Wasserman. Set in a psychiatric ward when the peace and serenity of mundaneness is interrupted by the effervescence and sheer bravado of new inmate, R.P.McMurphy. Nurse Ratchet slowly loses control of her patch, so to speak, as the devil may care McMurphy begins to bring the mentally sedated bunch of patients back to life with humour, pathos and utter contempt for the hierarchy and one by one they regain their “joie de vivre” with stoic, comic and ultimately tragic results. Featuring a cast of 17 One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest is an ensemble piece that has few peers in the realms of theatre and is generally regarded as one of the greatest American Plays of the 20th Century. Rail Theatre Co. is a Midlands based group who toured in 2007 with the Neil Simon comedy Barefoot in the Park to great acclaim.

Northside Youth Drama Club presents Wasted Teens


The Northside Youth Drama Club is an initiative of the Northside Learning Hub and Northside 'We're ok' Drugs Strategy. The groups first dramatic foray onto the Belltable stage is entitled Wasted Teens and tells the story of a young person who becomes embroiled into a downward spiral of alcohol and drug abuse. The play is 30 minutes long and features sixteen young people from a cross-section of schools in the Northside of Limerick City.

Puppet Lab present Beauty and the Beast. Puppet Lab’s latest production combines beautifully crafted wooden marionette puppets and blue screen technology which results in an entirely unique, incredibly technical performance. The mixture of live puppetry and on screen animation, traditional and modern, produces a fascinating piece of theatre which appeals to adults as well as children.

Memories & Dreams ~ A Musical Journey


Supported by Limerick Northside Regeneration Agency. The recently launched Regeneration Scheme for the Northside area is coinciding with the Moyross parish celebrating its 30th Anniversary and affords a unique opportunity to both look back and look forward!

With that platform, what an amazing show the local school, community and special guests have created - song, dance and comedy routines produced by the award winning Des Henn and Barbara Meany, which recognises the wider Limerick involvement in the regeneration process.

While led by the Corpus Christi Primary School and local community participants it will also include representation from the Cecilian Musical Society, Barespace Theatre Company and the Tops Odyssey troupe. Special Guest for the evening is Limerick's very own Mick Hanley who makes a long awaited return to his native city to lend his support to Moyross and the Northside of Limerick.

Lyngo Theatre in association with The Egg, Theatre Royal Bath presents Hansel & Gretel. It’s easier to feed two mouths than four and the poor woodsman’s empty stomach goes to his head – he gives in to his bony wife and Hansel and Gretel have to be left in the forest, not just once but twice and the second time there won’t be any moonstones to follow back home. Instead they follow their noses to the sugary heart of darkness… Hansel and Gretel’s journey takes them from a house with empty cupboards and a mother who doesn’t like children to a house made of sweets and someone who just loves children– on toast. Lyngo serve up a musical theatre treat with their own special recipe of multi-roled performances, captivating songs and haunting imagery. Suitable for all national school classes.

Batters & Butterflies: Final Dance Presentations


Students of the MA in Irish Traditional Dance Performance Programme, The Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick. Since 1999, students of the MA in IrishTraditional Dance Performance programme have annually developed a final presentation of their work. This year’s presentation is Batters and Butterflies; the name derived from two Irish step-dance movements. The programme which will include solo and ensemble work choreographed by Brendande Gallai, Andrej Mikulka, Katarina Mojzisova, Michael Ryan, Tarik Winston and the dancers themselves, will highlight traditional and contemporary perspectives on Irish dance. The dancers are: Renske Burghout, MairéadO’Connor, Neasa Ní Ghiolla Comhghín, and Kate Spanos.
