Sherlock
Holmes. The last Act
Sherlock
Holmes. The last Act. by David Stuart Davies with Roger Llewellyn.
“I was totally spellbound by his performance in this masterpiece
of theatre : it is faultless & of the highest pedigree. It comes
not merely as very highly recommended. It should be compulsory viewing.
- BBC Radio.
The
World's Greatest Fictional Detective confronts the most complex case
of all - his own Psyche. Fine wit, Broad Humour, High Drama - and
a touch of Pathos ...'elementary' aspects of this original & entertaining
solo play. It is 1916. Drawn from 2 year's Sussex retirement for the
funeral of his friend, Dr. Watson, Holmes returns to Baker Street
to resolve 'the last act' of his epic career. The play explores the
mind of the real man, - not the thinking machine. An unexpectedly
passionate and secretive man, with a cutting sense of humour. Stripping
away the famous clinical façade, Holmes reveals fears &
weaknesses, and the devastating consequences of the dramas of his
formative years. The whole being 'deduced ' from the 'clues' in Conan
Doyle's stories. Drama: 8pm.

Why
Men Cheat!
Morwax
Productions. Why Men Cheat. Dirty Rotten Cheats at the Belltable.
Ever cheated? Ever been cheated on? Ever wondered what compels men
to stray from their partners? If so, then a trip to the Belltable
might answer some of your questions. “Why Men Cheat”,
explores the whole area of male infidelity and shed some light on
why men are compelled to wander.
Based
on over one hundred interviews with cheaters and those they have cheated
on, they were condensed into twelve separate stories that were adjusted
and adapted by de Burca with names being changed to protect the guilty.
Alternately tender and raucous, each story explores almost every facet
of cheating. Some were sad and others were funny, bizarre and quite
frankly something you could not make up in a million years But most
of the stories are funny, mainly because men can be so wonderfully
stupid. So if you want to get inside the minds of a lot of unfaithful
men, go to ‘Why Men Cheat’ and it might bring you a little
closer to understanding this most complex of species. Drama: 8pm.

The
Green Mile
The
Green Mile. Shootin’ Star Productions. Set on death row in a
1930's American prison. The story centres on prison guard Paul Edgecomb
(Padraic Mc Donagh) whose sanity is sorely tested by watching men
live and die everyday. He encounters a prisoner called John Coffey
(6ft 9" Willie Moriarity), who’s under sentence of death
for the rape and murder of two children. Coffey seems an unlikely
murderer, he's afraid of the dark, cries in his sleep, and is simple
minded. He also has the gift of healing. Edgecomb, as well as the
other guards-the sympathetic brutus (Danny Mc Namara), and sadistic
Percy (Tom Pyne), are in for a strange experience that involves intelligent
mice, brutal executions, and the revelation about Coffey's innocence
and his true identity. Drama: 8pm.
