CAUGHT IN THE NET
Mask Productions presents CAUGHT IN THE NET. Caught In The Net is the hilariously funny sequel to Run For Your Wife – a rollicking play written and set.
at the turn of the Millennium, it is a bang up to date, fast paced, racy comedy featuring many of your favourite Fair City stars – Tony Tormey (Paul), Tom Hopkins (Christy), George McMahon (Mondo), Jenny Kavanagh (Cleo).
Nominated for the 2002 Olivier [Britain's Tony Award] and the 2001 Evening Standard Awards for Best New Comedy, the play finds bigamist taxi-driver, John Smith, still keeping both his families happy and blissfully unaware of each other. However, his teenage children – one girl and one boy by each wife – have met on the Internet and are determined to see each other in person, especially as they seem to have so much in common – same surname and a taxi-driver dad! When it dawns on John that they are about to meet, he plunges into a hell-hole of his own making in order top keep them apart. His saviour Stanley is a somewhat socially inept lodger, but Stanley is about to go on holiday with his decrepit old father, who turns up thinking he is already at the guesthouse. The ever-spiralling situation gets increasingly out-of-hand as John and Stanley bust a gut to juggle with the truth.
“Cooney gives you a master class in the art of farce…” What’s On
“...the sequel to Cooney’s huge eighties hit Run For Your Wife…
even funnier than it’s predecessor.” Daily Telegraph
"Strict, fanciful, brilliant this is the funniest play of the year" The Daily Mail

Diana Copperwhite - BLIND SPOT
Limerick City Gallery of Art is very pleased to present an exhibition of new paintings by Dublin based, Limerick born artist Diana Copperwhite, whose lyrical paintings explore the ambiguities of personal memories and a dislocation from the real.
Literally bound into Copperwhite’s process is the act of painting, which both portrays and obliterates the subject through manipulating layers of pigment. Copperwhite’s painterly explorations of palettes of colours and light, in oils, pencil drawings and watercolours portray the expanses of heightened realities.

Michele Horrigan, Melanie O’Rourke, Jeanette Hillig – The Colour of Surprise
In the Colour of Surprise three artists, Jeanette Hillig, Michele Horrigan and Melanie O’Rourke challenge us to take a closer look at our surroundings. Their depictions of disregarded objects; an industrial factory, discarded toys, and an unlikely unification of primary coloured plastic objects draws attention to the waste spewing from our society. Brutal changes brought about by growth, pollution and the staining of the gallery space fling us into a vortex of flux.
This exhibition is guest curated by Pippa Little, Curator Audience & Access, Limerick City Gallery of Art.

Now Showing
The Moon Chronicles by Suzanne Fox
Suzanne’s work examines the complexities and conflicts of the human spirit, the power of the mind and the struggle to achieve higher consciousness. She deals with the ordinary and the drama that surrounds it. Aspects of power, weakness, violence, fear and submission are all investigated. It is not narrative but aims to be intellectually fluid allowing the viewer to explore many avenues before arriving at a conclusion. Suzanne utilizes humble, organic and industrial materials to create a visualization of vulnerability, endurance and metamorphosis.
In her paintings Suzanne looks to nature and in particular the ancient standing stones we see throughout the world. To her these stones are potent symbols of endurance and resilience. They are worn and ever changing and it is this timeless presence, this sense of survival that her work is about. The artist deals with the obscure and almost hidden aspects of life, the secretive side, a side that is difficult to interpret.
We would love you have your company at our exhibition openings so feel free to come along, meet the artist and view the art work on display while enjoying a glass of wine.
If you are unable to attend an opening, exhibitions can be viewed during opening hours Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm and on show evenings
