The Moon
Chronicles by Suzanne Fox
Suzanne’s
work examines the complexities and conflicts of the human spirit,
the power of the mind and the struggle to achieve higher consciousness.
She deals with the ordinary and the drama that surrounds it. Aspects
of power, weakness, violence, fear and submission are all investigated.
It is not narrative but aims to be intellectually fluid allowing the
viewer to explore many avenues before arriving at a conclusion. Suzanne
utilizes humble, organic and industrial materials to create a visualization
of vulnerability, endurance and metamorphosis.
In her
paintings Suzanne looks to nature and in particular the ancient standing
stones we see throughout the world. To her these stones are potent
symbols of endurance and resilience. They are worn and ever changing
and it is this timeless presence, this sense of survival that her
work is about. The artist deals with the obscure and almost hidden
aspects of life, the secretive side, a side that is difficult to interpret.
We would
love you have your company at our exhibition openings so feel free
to come along, meet the artist and view the art work on display while
enjoying a glass of wine.
If you
are unable to attend an opening, exhibitions can be viewed during
opening hours Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm and on show evenings

COLLECTORS
EVENTS
The Crafts
Council of Ireland is delighted to present two exhibitions for the
discerning collector. These specially selected showcases feature the
work of some of Ireland's most distinguished craftspeople. Visitors
to our flagship gallery in Kilkenny and the internationally-renowned
Hunt Museum in Limerick may be surprised by what they see: Daring,
innovative and beautifully crafted, these contemporary objects are
one-of-a-kind masterworks that will last a lifetime.
The Crafts
Council of Ireland is dedicated to introducing highly desirable contemporary
craft to high-end buyers. These beautifully crafted pieces in glass,
wood, metal, ceramics and textiles will bring any home and any collection
to life.
Collecting
international craft is fast becoming a highly regarded activity. As
valid as collecting contemporary art, top quality pieces feature in
the world's most prestigious public collections. This November, collectors
both at home and abroad will have the opportunity to invest in the
best we have to offer.
Alongside
these two exciting Collectors Events, the Crafts Council of Ireland
also makes its debut at the 13th annual SOFA Chicago. The Annual Exposition
of Sculptural Objects & Functional Art is one of the world's most
important art fairs. Establishing an international profile for Irish
craft and achieving international representation for our makers will
add to Ireland's already blossoming collectors market.
Whether
it's Chicago, Kilkenny or Limerick and whether the collector is seasoned
or just starting out, the Crafts Council of Ireland is pleased to
present the opportunity of a lifetime. The Collectors Event at the
Hunt Museum, Limerick runs until December 6. Collectors Event at the
National Craft Gallery, Kilkenny runs until January 6 2007 and SOFA
Chicago runs from November 10-12 2006. For further information contact

KEVIN
BLOODY WILSON
A long
time ago, a long way from anywhere, in a West Australian mining town
called Kalgoorlie, the legend of Kevin Bloody Wilson was born. It
all started innocently enough – just a guy with too much time
on his hands changing the words to other people’s songs, and
writing a few of his own, purely for the fun of it.
Twenty
years, countless live gigs and millions of album sales down the track,
Kevin Bloody Wilson has not only found his niche, he’s grabbed
an esky and a deckchair and he’s made himself really bloody
comfortable in it!
Kev’s
songs match the Kalgoorlie landscape, dry and unforgiving. These songs
are uniquely Australian, and yet year after year, album after album,
tour after tour, people from all corners of the globe keep laughing
their guts out at Kevin Bloody Wilson’s completely authentic
and original body of work.

Barry
This
Nov/Dec Keith Barry will embark on his third Irish Tour with his totally
new live show “Keith Barry – Mental, A Mind Altering Experience”.
The Tour will kick off on Nov 23rd in The Excel Centre, Tipperary
and cover most of the country up to mid December where he finishes
in Limerick at UCH. The tour will feature brand new elements of Keith’s
work where he mixes psychology, mentalism, neuro linguistics, instant
induction hypnosis and magic. The show is dubbed “A Mind Altering
Experience” after test runs of the new show it left people speechless
and dazed at Keith’s talent.
2006
has been Keith’s busiest year yet with the launch of “Keith
Barry – Extraordinary”, Keith’s first CBS Primetime
TV Special in the USA. This coupled with his US Live show launch/run
at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood has led to negotiations to place
Keith among the Las Vegas elite in his own show on the famous Las
Vegas Strip starting in 2007. His CBS TV Special saw Keith perform
psychological illusions with celebrities including Matthew McConaughey,
Jessica Simpson, Elijah Wood and Wilmer Valderrama. Keith’s
CBS deal puts him in a very select group of magicians who command
their own Network TV Specials in the US, David Copperfield and David
Blaine being the other two members of that group.
Early
in 2007, Keith will launch in the UK with a Live Saturday Night TV
Special . Based on the success of his US show the UK show will be
packed with Celebrities and will feature Keith doing a death defying
stunt LIVE.
2006
also saw Keith’s acting debut on the No. 1 show on the planet,
CSI Miami. Guest starring in the episode “Open Water”
Keith played the part of Barry Judd, a thief and murder suspect.

An evening
with Frances Black
Having
sold out 30 venues in around the country so far this year, Frances
Black is bringing her particular blend of charm and talent to Limerick
as part of her Irish winter tour 2006. Frances’ musical career
began at 17, when she began singing with the Black Family. Frances
enhanced her performing skills through joining the band Arcady in
1988, in addition to her subsequent successful collaboration with
Kieran Goss. However, it was her involvement in the “Woman's
Heart” albums and tours that placed Frances firmly in the public
eye, and led to the release of her first solo album, “Talk to
Me,” which was the number one best-selling album in Ireland
for ten weeks. She has since released eight best-selling solo albums,
including her recently released folk collection album, “This
Love Will Carry,” on which she does a duet with her daughter
Aoife Scott, who will be doing support for the tour.
