beside the River Nore on the south side of Kilkenny city stands this
magnificent Medieval landmark. Kilkenny Castle. The castle was built in
the 12th Centaury by the Anglo Norman conqueror Strongbow. Two decades
later the Castle was added to by Strongbow’s son. Today you can still
see 3 of the then new 4 towers he built and the stone structure of
