Presented by Siamsa Tire as part of Kilkenny Celtic Festival. A story
as old as Ireland itself, this celtic story is an eternal tale of
salvation. Clann Lir portrays the journey of four children who are
doomed to spend nine hundred years in the guise of swans but are allowed
to keep their beautiful singing voices. A glorious visual, musical

The Cambria
‘The Cambria’ was a trans-Atlantic Cunard Line paddle-steamer.
On August 10th 1845, among its passengers was an escaped slave called
Frederick Douglass. Once landed in Ireland, Frederick Douglass spoke
on platforms with Daniel O’Connell. He went on to become what
Abraham Lincoln called “the most impressive man I ever met”,
and the most prominent African-American leader of the 19th century.
