Hard to Believe
Hard To Believe is a blackly funny investigation into the nature of
belief: how they sold us God, spinach, and the electric chair. At
the dark centre of a world of spin and Stakeknife, is there anything
left we can truly have faith in?
Séan Keans plays John Foster the maestro of disinformation
and dirty tricks throughout the Otroubles' in Northern Ireland. In
a 'tour de force performance' - Sunday Times, he spins through over
twenty mammies, agents, dogs, murderers, priests, touts and politicians.
In its quest to dig out some light and laughter from the midst of
the murk Hard To Believe is 'quite
simply gobsmacking' - Sunday Tribune. 8pm, tickets: €25/12.50.
Booking on 056 7761674. Watergate Theatre.

The Green Fool
By Patrick Kavanagh. Celebrate the centenary of one of Ireland's greatest
and best-loved poets with this hilarious recreation of his childhood
and early manhood! Patrick Kavanagh sits in his London lodgings writing
a memoir of his idyllic childhood - a collection of beautiful tales
- of floral bog landscapes, wizard-like tramps and shoemakers, harming
people with boundless good humour. But as Kavanagh tries to recreate
his own past, he is distracted by unrequited desire for a servant
girl and a looming libel suit. Not alone this, he is hounded by a
strange visitor, come to offer him
unwanted advice. A hugely imaginative adaptation for the stage by
Declan Gorman of a truly delightful book. 'Had the audience rolling
in the aislesS a hilarious recreation of the old ways' - Drohegda
Independent. 8pm, tickets: €25/12.50 (Students & Groups €20).
