Freeform
Freeform is a new concept that allows children and young people to
interact with and learn about the visual arts. Freeform uses the
innovative ‘Squideo’ animation software developed by Saffron
Pictures. The software is easy to use and is designed for children
and youth from age 7 upwards. Digital photographs of paintings,
sculptures, prints and drawings from the Butler Gallery Collection

Seven Dogs
Nicky Hooper’s exhibition is that of seven large scale dogs,
paintings measuring 3 metres x 2 metres. These images stem from her
interest in exploring surface pattern and in this case she has

The Führer’s bunker, Hitler awaits the inevitable collapse
of Berlin.
The 20th Century’s most notorious tyrant is daringly and divisively
brought to the stage in one of the most successful and powerful solo
works ever presented. Pip Utton, looking uncomfortably like the
Fuhrer, stands before a huge Nazi banner addressing his party
faithful. He furnishes his audience with an acute anatomy of fascism;
its ideological justifications; its poisoned utopias. Hitler’s
final
performance seems over as he settles into pre-suicidal contemplation.

Kilkenny Castle
Fully restored and furnished, a conducted tour of the castle is one
of the most popular attractions in Ireland. The castle contains an
art gallery and café, extensive grounds, a children’s
play area and an audio-visual room. Last tour starts approx. one hour

This 800 year old abbey has a wealth of mediaeval history attached
to it. A guide service, a visitor centre and an exhibition brings

Canice’s Cathedral
The word ‘Kilkenny’ in Irish means ‘The Church of
Canice’. Completed in 1285 the fabric contains many sculpted
memorials as testament to the masons art. Open October to Easter,

Rothe
House
Built by merchant prince John Rothe in 1594, the house is in effect
three houses separated by cobbled stone courtyards. They are fine
examples of a Tudor town house. Rothe House is a heritage centre,
and contains a fine period costume display and frequent visiting exhibitions.
