LEABHAR MÓR NA GAEILGE
An Leabhar Mór / the Great Book of Gaelic brings together the work of
more than 200 poets, visual artists and calligraphers from Scotland
and Ireland to create a major contemporary artwork in the form of a
visual anthology. The 100 Gaelic poems have been nominated by leading
poets and writers such as Seamus Heaney, Hamish Henderson and
Alastair Macleod as well as the contributing poets themselves. The
selection features work from almost every century from the 6th to the
21st and includes the earliest Gaelic poetry in existence. Comedy ,
tragedy, love, death, the spiritual and the bawdy are all
represented. Open: 9am - 1pm & 2pm - 5pm, Mon - Fri. No.72, John

IRISH CONTEMPORARY CERAMICS 2007
A snapshot of contemporary ceramic art. The National Craft Gallery
opens its doors to some of Ireland’s most creative artists. Irish
Contemporary Ceramics 2007 is a touring exhibition of specially
selected work. Showcasing the skills of 34 leading practitioners,
this major event displays the variety, versatility and vocabulary of
clay. Open: Mon-Sat 10am-6pm. National Craft Gallery, Castle Yard.

Gems from the Collection delves into the racks and draws our
attention to works in the collection that have not been viewed in
recent times. This current selection embraces a variety of genres

and compassionate, Dublin Carol is one of the most revealing plays

By Máiréad Ní Ghráda is set in Dublin during 1961 and tells the story
of a young, unmarried Irish woman who discovers that she is pregnant.
