VISUAL
ART

And
the greatest of these
Life
and death, religion and ritual, pain and sorrow are the threads that
weave through Bernadette Cotters exhibition. At first glance the exhibition
is aesthetically beautiful - the meticulous attention to detail, the
unusual choice of materials and meditative quality achieved through
repetition fill the senses. Those familiar with her work will be aware
that outward appearances are often skin deep. Engaging involves stripping
back the layers, a process that affects both artist and viewer.

The Love-Hungry Farmer
Adapted by Des Keogh from Letters of a Love-hungry Farmer by John
B. Keane, the play tells the story of John Bosco McLane who at 56
is, according to his own assessment, Œpast his best¹ and
evidently still a virgin. McLane¹s amorous adventures range from
the cartoonish to the pitiful. He has tales of being led on and humiliated,
outraged and offended, dumped and ashamed. Even the strenuous efforts
of matchmaker, Dicky Mick Dicky O¹Connor fail him! 8pm, tickets:
f16/f14, group rate available. Booking on 056 7761674. Watergate Theatre.

Stuck In The Mud
By James Butler. Andy is stuck. His parents have split up, he won¹t
play with his best friend and he¹s being bullied in the playground...
by a girl! Things change when his father returns to look after him
for a few days. As they start to re-build their relationship, Andy¹s
confidence grows. Before long, he¹s ready to tackle his troubles
and fears, with surprising results... This compassionate, insightful
and richly humorous play gently illustrates the pain of separation,
the politics of the playground and the extraordinary power of the
imagination. For children aged 7-12. Wed 23rd of February @ 12.30pm;
