A Few Spaces
Exhibition by Doireann Ní Ghriaghair. Doireann makes temporary
installations and structures in various ‘sites’, such as the urban
space, the domestic and others. Her use of materials is economical
and she generally uses those that are to hand such as junk, food and
urban and domestic debris. These materials do not lend themselves to
producing precious immortal art objects and this transitory nature of
her work is important to her. Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm. County Hall, John

Freeform
An Animated Remix of the Butler Gallery Collection. Freeform is a new
concept that allows children and young people to interact with and
learn about the visual arts. Freeform uses the innovative 'Squideo'
animation software developed by Saffron Pictures. The software is
easy to use and is designed for children and youth from age 7
upwards. Digital photographs of paintings, sculptures, prints and
drawings from the Butler Gallery Collection are used as source

A Crafts Council of Ireland promotion of contemporary craft currently
available from Irish retailers. Stylishly displayed room-sets show

The Crock of Gold
A stranger has arrived in Ireland. Caitlín a young farmer’s daughter
is seduced by him and embarks on a life of sensual pleasure. In a
little cottage in a dark pine wood her horrified father implores the
help of the Philosopher, who realises that the stranger is none other
than Pan, the God of Desire. What can be done? The Philosopher leaves
the safety of his home and embarks on a journey to find Aengus Óg,
the long forgotten God of Love and ask his help. Meanwhile the
Leprechauns of Gort na Cloca Mora find that somebody has stolen their
crock of gold, and embark on a disruptive revenge. A vibrant and
joyful new adaptation of this classic Irish comedy which asks the
fundamental question - how are we to live? This production is a
unique blend of humour, sensuality and satire, for an adult audience.
