Mr. Kolpert
GRANARY AUTUMN REP SEASON. IRISH PREMIERES OF EUROPEAN PLAYS
By David Gieselmann. Based in the apartment of a young German couple, Gieselman juggles with a litany of contemporary cinema's most recognisable themes and conventions: the amoral hero; the motiveless murder; the dispensable do-gooder; blood; puke; carnage; sex in a lift; and, vitally, the importance of taking your clothes off. Amounting to 80 minutes of
breathless, anarchic comedy of the highest quality and the lowest taste, Mr.Kolpert is absurd, accessible, and suitable for Hitchcock addicts, comedy addicts, popcorn lovers, serial killers and kids who dig Tarantino. 8pm. Box Office: 4904275. Granary Theatre, Dyke Parade.

Man and Boy
David Suchet makes his Irish theatre debut with a superb revival of Terrance Rattigan's powerful thriller, Man and Boy. In Man and Boy Rattigan transports the audience to 1930's Manhattan, into a high-octane world of spin and financial politics, where style far outweighs sincerity and Man can make miracles. In this case, the Man is Gregor Antonescu, a financier whose
advice is sought by Presidents, Ministers and Kings, but whose world is about to fall down around him. The Boy is Basil Antony, the son who disowned him five years ago. Man and Boy features a relationship between father and son; sons who disappoint their fathers and sons who have their illusions about their fathers shattered. 8pm, tickets: €25 (conc.€22). Box Office: 4501673. Everyman Palace Theatre, MacCurtain Street.

October 12 to 16
Hard to Believe
By Conall Morrison. Now, as part of her recovery, Lynn must confront her father with these allegations but he is adamant that none of these horrific acts ever took place. Who is
telling the truth? What is the truth? An unstoppable sequence of events is set in motion as the lives of the three characters are changed forever in an outpouring of raw emotions. The play builds relentlessly to its shocking climax taking the audience on a roller coaster ride of shifting sympathies, outrage, and doubt. Due to the graphic nature of the language and subject matter, the play is suitable only for an adult audience. 8pm, booking on: 4508398. Cork Arts Theatre, Knapps Quay (across river opp. Cork Opera House).
