Topography of the Titanic
In October 2002, German photographer Kai-Olaf Hesse initiated Topography of Titanic, an extensive photographic survey of Queens Island sites related to the making of the Titanic; the historic marks, remaining buildings, and suggestive blanks left by rapid demolition and transformation. The images will be presented in the context of an oral history sound installation. Sirius Arts Centre, Cobh.

Paintings by Charles Tyrell. The predominant feature of Tyrrell’s work is his use of tightly constructed diptychs – two squares stacked one above the other, or side by side. Surface Tension Urban Art Fest
Surface Tension will be an explosive weekend of street-based artwork by renowned national and international artists. John Shinnors has been fascinated by Frank Bramley’s painting Domino! in the Crawford Municipal Art Gallery's permanent collection for over twenty-five years. The Judas Cradle
Ron Athey’s The Judas Cradle, inspired by its original design, is a pyramid with four legs cast in resin on which Athey performs. Mounted next to Athey on a podium is his interrogator, the opera singer Juliana Snapper. With a narrative unfolding over three acts, The Judas Cradle combines performance, text, large scale video projection of live and pre-recorded film and live, haunting operatic singing to conjure up an extraordinary series of images and ideas around suffering, sacrifice and transcendence. Cork Opera Works in association with Cork Opera House presents Engelbert Humperdinck’s magical fairy opera. First performed in 1893, the German composer Englebert Humperdinck’s operatic retelling of the classic story by the Brothers Grimm is filled with the kind of fantasy that makes a child’s imagination soar. The Ha’Penny Bridge
