THE LOVE HUNGRY FARMER
The Love Hungry Farmer tells the story of John Bosco McLane, a
bachelor who at 56 is, according to his own assessment, ‘past
his
best’ and evidently ‘still wet behind the ears’.
McLane’s amorous
adventures range from the hilarious to the heart breaking. John
Bosco McLane is desperate for female companionship; now in his late
50’s, he wants to find someone to share his life with before
it's too
late. Living in a tiny cottage near the isolated community of
Bannabeen, though, has provided few opportunities. Even the strenuous
efforts of the matchmaker, Dick Mick Dicky O’Connor, fail him!

Rose
part of Cork Midsummer Festival
By Martin Sherman. Rose, played by Fiona York, is a survivor. Her
remarkable life began in a tiny Russian village, took her to Warsaw’s
ghettos and a ship called ‘The Exodus’ and finally to
the boardwalks
of Atlantic City, the Arizona canyons and salsa-flavoured nights in
Miami Beach. The play is both a sharply drawn portrait of a feisty
Jewish woman and a moving reminder of some of the events that shaped
the last century. 6.30pm (Jun 29), 8pm (Jun 30). Tickets: f10/8.
Booking: 1890 200 555. Unitarian Church, Princes Street.

prolonged phase as a homosexual-wannabe: all part of the remarkable
story of celebrated actor, street performer and drinker, Ed Malone.
