An exhibition of photography by AIB prizewinner 2003 Dara McGrath. The exhibition depicts the changing landscape of Ireland's national road network. Chris O'Sullivan
This exhibition of prints by Chris O'Sullivan depicts the events of the day when the Royal Mail Steamer Leinster was torpedoed by a German submarine on October 10 1918 . Tigh Filí Gallery, Thompson House, MacCurtain Street.

February 3 to 7
Croon
Croon' is a major project, which involves a partnership between the NSF and Meridian Theatre Company. The project involves collaboration between Meridian Artistic Director Johnny Hanrahan and renowned sculptor Daphne Wright. It will manifest in a number of sites within Cork City, the three sites are: the 'Douglas Vance' room of the Metropole, the I.A.W.S warehouse and the stage of the Everyman Palace Theatre. Croon' promises to be one of the events of the year and will be an extraordinary event, both in vision and in scale.

Unlocking
An exhibition of art and design work produced by students of Colaiste Stiofain Naofa Cork. Building on its deserved reputation, this curatored exhibition presents quality art and design across a range of media. Cork Vision Centre @ St Peter's, North Main Street.

The Lavit Gallery Auction
Taking place in the Boardroom of the Port of Cork. The auction will be proceeded by a drinks reception at 7pm and dinner at 8pm. Tickets for the event are restricted and may be obtained from the gallery at a cost of e100 per person. Among the work for auction will be pieces, paintings and sculptures by Irish and international artists. On the evening there will be spot prizes and a raffle of paintings. Stephen Gunning
Stephen Gunning's work revolves around social issues and the individual's relationship with society. He investigates how we inhabit urban situations and the relationship between the public and social confrontation. Working extensively in video, Gunning has exhibited widely internationally. Vii Manifestations: Passing
Originally from Peru, South America, Isabela Basombrio-Hoban is now living and working in Ireland. Her mixed-media installations are evocative of reliquaries, treasures and private places of adornment. The work is reminiscent of low-tech' experimental scientific object making with undercurrent themes of birth, death and re-birth. Artist's Talk: Friday 13 February, 1.30pm. Admission Free. searching For The Enemy
By Gerald Bauer. Boomerang Theatre Company Ltd. in collaboration with the Dutch interactive design collective Shade Interactive' and Theater der Jugend', Vienna, stage a new play inspired by Orwell's 1984. In the post war climate that prevailed Orwell imagined a totalitarian state for the future. Opera 2005 Gala Fundraiser
Featuring international soprano Mary Hegarty, young Cork tenor Breffni Horgan and will mark the first appearance of the Chorus of Opera 2005. The programme will consist of a series of operatic solos, tender duets and passionate choruses. A pas-de-deux will be performed by two members of Cork City Ballet, Alan Foley and Judith Sibley.
