After The Thaw
An exhibition of over thirty paintings and sculptures by contemporary
artists from the AIB Art Collection. The exhibition explores the resurgence
of the landscape and the figure in Ireland from the early nineties

Sean Scully, Bernadette Kiely, Charles Tyrrell, Dorothy Cross, and

Sean Scully - Graphic Works
This exhibition shows a selection of Sean Scully’s recent graphic
works, focussing on aquatint and etching techniques. The Munich Mirrors
series is a set of 5 prints while the Etchings for Federico Garcia
Lorca series comprises 10 prints. Also in the exhibition will be two

The Cork Chandeliers Project
Madeleine Boulesteix started making chandeliers after finding glass
in a pile of rubbish. Creating objects of beauty out of recycled material
provided a creative and inventive framework of play for her and using
materials from charity shops, car boot sales, rubbish bins. For this
project, Madeleine will work specifically around the theme of "Not
Entirely Alone" to create her new chandeliers. Triskel Arts Centre,

Keeper
From The Maze / Long Kesh Archive Project. Through her work with prisoners
& prison staff from 1998 to 2000, Amanda Dunsmore was able to
access former security sensitive areas, such as the original Long
Kesh Compound. Keeper presents a series of works stemming from this
experience. These works are based around a site of historical social
change, but also involve individual stories, and depict how forms
of culture prevail even in extreme environments. Triskel Arts Centre,

Topography of the Titanic
In October 2002, German photographer Kai-Olaf Hesse initiated Topography
of Titanic, an extensive photographic survey of Queens Island sites
related to the making of the Titanic; the historic marks, remaining
buildings, and suggestive blanks left by rapid demolition and transformation.
The images will be presented in the context of an oral history sound
installation collated by artist Ruth Graham. Sirius Arts Centre, Cobh.

The splendid Regency dining room of Fota House is the venue for the
second sitting of ‘Feast’, the travelling exhibition by
members of the West Cork Craft & Design Guild. The show comprises

Response to Bramley: John Shinnors’ Domino!
John Shinnors has been fascinated by Frank Bramley’s painting
Domino! in the Crawford Municipal Art Gallery's permanent collection
for over twenty-five years. Shinnors' large-scale canvas (a triptych
over four metres in length) is a personal response to the painting
he refers to as “the beautiful painting”. The two compositions
will be situated in the Long Room of the Gallery and it is hoped the
works will encourage viewers to undertake a new dialogue between Bramley

Tide
‘Tide’ is an exhibition of new work by Cork based artist
Debbie Godsell. ‘Tide’ shows Godsell combining print and
painting techniques on canvas panels. The result is a strong and engaging
collection of work packed with visual imagery and familiar repeated
motifs and patterns. The theme is the sea and associated imagery which
suggests a relationship between the artist and the ocean. Godsell
says that coming from a seafaring family has shaped her thoughts for
as long as she can remember and ‘Tide’ has evolved from

that ours is a predominantly visual culture. Theories concerning the
visual nature of experience have been proposed in art history, cognitive

Second City Trilogy - ‘The Cure’
Three plays by Cónal Creedon. The Second City Trilogy is conceived
as a tragicomic exploration of the dynamic of various father-son relationships,
set against the social, historical and topographical background of
Cork city. The Cure The anti-hero of The Cure is unable to confront
various issues in his personal life. We meet him trawling the streets
of Cork looking for an early morning pub in search of a ‘cure’.
But fate takes a hand to his feet and the streets of Cork become his
road to Damascus.A tragi-comic play inspired by the parable of The
Prodigal Son, from St. Luke’s Gospel. After Luke and When I
